VISTA launches Open Access plans
Choice of PCP, no specialist referral and out-of-network benefit available
HOLLYWOOD - May 17, 2004 - Vista Healthplan, Inc. (VISTA), a health benefits company, announced today it has expanded its growing portfolio of employer group products with the launch of its Open Access and Open Access Plus plans with an effective date as early as June 1.
The Open Access and Open Access Plus plans feature the choice of a primary care physician and self referral to a specialist. With Open Access, a health maintenance organization (HMO) plan, members choose physicians from VISTA's network of more than 5,000 doctors. Open Access Plus is a point-of-service (POS) plan which, in addition to HMO benefits, has an out-of-network benefit where members have the freedom to choose a physician outside the VISTA network at a slightly higher cost.
"We are pleased to introduce our Open Access plans for employer groups," said Peter Joseph, vice president of commercial sales at VISTA. "Employers will find these plans are priced right against competitors in the market."
VISTA plans to introduce more new employer group plans this summer driven by the company's successful turnaround, continued commercial growth and multi-year awards and renewals of key employer group contracts. VISTA currently provides health benefits to more than 10,000 employers.
