VISTA offers more than just health benefits and payment of claims. VISTA
also provides educational information regarding the following practice
guidelines and health programs.
In an effort to improve provider and member awareness of nationally established
practice guidelines for common disease states VISTA encourages providers and
members to use nationally established clinical practice guidelines as reference
tools for giving and receiving care. Providers are encouraged to familiarize
themselves with applicable guidelines and to refer to them in their daily
patient management, including but not limited to the following:
CHF practice guidelines
Diabetics practice guidelines
Pediatric asthma practice guidelines
It is also recognized that the use of nationally established
screening guidelines may contribute to the overall improvement of a member's
health status, including but not limited to the following:
Adult Preventive Services
Pediatric Preventive Services
Disease management programs and services are available to members based on
their specific health condition.
The primary purpose of the disease management programs is to educate the member about their disease and to
work with them to incorporate various principles and best practices that could
have the potential of improving their overall health condition.
