HOLLYWOOD, FL - August 4, 2004 - VISTA announced today it is expanding its Medicare products portfolio with the launch of its new Platinum Select plan, a product of Vista Healthplan of South Florida, Inc. (VSFL). Effective immediately, the Platinum Select plan is available to Medicare beneficiaries in Broward County. Plan benefits include no copay for office visits with primary care physicians; a $10 copay for specialist visits; $0 copay for generic drugs with unlimited coverage and a $20 copay for brand name drugs on VSFL's preferred list of more than 650 prescription medications. The copay for inpatient services participating hospitals* in VSFL's network is $50 for days one through five, with no copay beginning on day six. The plan also offers a quarterly over-the-counter (OTC) benefit that allows members to receive $25 worth of selected OTC pharmacy items from a list provided by VSFL. "The introduction of the Platinum Select plan is an important step in VISTA's continued commitment to provide consumers with more choices and affordable health benefit plans that help minimize their out-of-pocket expenses," said Steve Russell, vice president of product development for VISTA. "This new product solidifies our position in the Medicare marketplace and is aligned with our strategy to increase membership in Broward." Growth of VISTA's Medicare and commercial membership, the presentation of new health benefit plans and recent expansion of its hospital network is further evidence of the company's aggressive and successful turnaround. VISTA's emerging selection of employer group products, including the launch of its Open Access and Open Access Plus plans, signifies its competitive posture in the market. The company also announced an agreement with the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) East Florida Division that added 13 HCA South Florida and Treasure Coast hospitals to VISTA's hospital network.
